Scholarship Criteria for the Sokol SF - Czech School Scholarship Fund

Purpose:

Support school participation and collaboration between organizations that help all to learn more about the Czech & Slovak language, culture, history, country & geography.

Criteria:

Must be a member or family member of Sokol San Francisco and in attendance or applying to attend the Czech School of California. Consideration will be given to financial need, academic relevance, and student/family willingness to participate in Sokol collaboration.

Guidelines:

Scholarships between $250 to $500 each will be awarded, according to the number of candidates deemed in need as well as the allotted annual budget approved each year. The check(s) will be made payable to the Czech School of California in the name of the student recipient(s). Awardees will receive recognition and a Sokol Sponsored Event.

Requirements:

  1. A family member must be a current member of Sokol SF and plan to attend the Czech School of California.

  2. Complete the Sokol Scholarship Application - online or mailed in hardcopy

  3. Submit/Attach up to a one-page essay (maximum 500 words) describing academic relevance to learning more about the Czech language & culture and how collaboration between organizations is beneficial as well as financial need.

Submission:

Applications must be received by February 1st for Spring Semester and October 1st for the Fall Semester.
